This role provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on EH&S experience while pursuing their undergraduate degree. Location: Bismarck, ND Role type: Internship or Co-op (8 months for Co-op; 4 months for Internship). Co-ops are full-time; Internships are part-time with potential for multiple semesters. Opportunities span across 18 of Bobcat's functions. Role & Responsibilities
Ergonomics: Applying Ergonomics to make safety improvements Creating programs & improvements in tools and processes through ergonomics Calculating Ergonomic Risk & Hazards Researching methods to maximize health and well-being through better design of daily-use items Inspecting and evaluating work environments, equipment, and practices Communicating with users to understand and evaluate problems they may encounter with specific equipment or machines Safety Engineering Controls: Support continual improvement of engineering out hazards Identify safety hazards and risks and the tools to identify them Assist in process documentation, identification and awareness of Safety Design, develop, and improve items such as tools, electronics, and machines with a focus on comfort, safety, and usability Design, develop, and improve ergonomic equipment to increase workplace comfort, safety, and productivity Industrial Hygiene: Evaluating areas to understand opportunities for improvements Air Quality, Noise Levels, Exposure Limits for measuring and monitoring conditions Research new technologies to reduce employee exposure to health hazards Safety Metrics: Assist in tracking and understanding how Safety Metrics affect the Company Environmental Footprint and understanding of product life cycles Compile, develop and provide performance reports against EH&S metrics (leading and lagging) Analysis of safety data using investigative/trending techniques to identify emerging and changing risks, development of mitigation strategies Qualifications (What you bring)
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology with a focus on Environmental, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Ergonomics Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Team player, fast learner, and adaptable to change Excellent interpersonal and communications skills A self-starter who can dig into problems independently with limited guidance Ability to commit to Doosan Bobcat for the entire term of the co-op (8 months) or internship (4 months) Basic computer skills Ability to follow written instructions Benefits & Additional Information
