Co-op: an 8-month full-time opportunity with immersion into corporate and production environments. Internship: a semester-long, part-time opportunity with potential to extend across multiple semesters. Co-op and Internship opportunities span across 18 of Bobcat’s functions. Role & Responsibility
Ergonomics
Applying ergonomics to make safety improvements Creating programs and improvements in tools and processes through ergonomics Calculate ergonomic risk and hazards Research methods to maximize health and well-being through better design of daily-use items Inspect and evaluate work environments, equipment, and practices Communicate with users to understand and evaluate problems with equipment or machines Safety Engineering Controls
Support continual improvement of engineering controls to reduce hazards Identify safety hazards and risks and the tools to address them Assist in process documentation and safety awareness Design, develop, and improve items (tools, electronics, machines) with focus on safety and usability Design ergonomic equipment to increase workplace comfort, safety, and productivity Industrial Hygiene
Evaluate areas to identify opportunities for improvement Air quality, noise levels, exposure limits for measuring and monitoring conditions Research technologies to reduce employee exposure to health hazards Safety Metrics
Assist in tracking Safety Metrics and their impact on the company Environmental footprint and product life cycle understanding Compile and provide performance reports against EH&S metrics (leading and lagging) Analyze safety data to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies Qualifications
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing in Engineering (various), Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology with a focus on Environmental, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Ergonomics Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Team player, quick learner, adaptable to change Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Self-starter who can work with limited guidance Commitment to Doosan Bobcat for the full term of the co-op (8 months) or internship (4 months) Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions Benefits & Additional Information
