Conduct research.

Write technical papers.

Assist in proposal development.

Vacancies

First vacancy: developing new AI-driven and distributed computing tools for big data processing and decision making in field-based plant phenotyping. The applicants are expected to have demonstrated experience and published in data-driven digital agriculture during their PhD studies.

Second vacancy: developing new algorithms and tools to control the environmental conditions (lighting and CO2) in greenhouses. The applicants for the second vacancy are expected to have prior knowledge of automation, control and AI applications in controlled environment agriculture demonstrated by prior publications. For both vacancies, strong and fundamental knowledge of plant sciences, as well as computational sciences (e.g., controls and machine learning) are required. Prior hands-on experience, either in the field or in greenhouse, is desired although not required.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultal Engineering, or a related field
