Sep 18, 2025 The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Clemson University invites applications to fill a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Professor of Practice with an anticipated start date in January 2026. The position runs on a renewable 12-month appointment cycle.
Responsibilities
Lead coordinator for the department's senior capstone program; ensure consistent student experience and outcomes for all capstone projects.
Identify industry projects for student participation and support course instructors to ensure ABET required standards are met.
Foster and pursue industry relationships to create opportunities for student engagement.
Teaching responsibilities will include the capstone lecture and typically one other course each semester.
Qualifications Successful candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree or possess a master's degree with at least 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. The candidates must have a passion for hands-on teaching and communication skills to motivate students in a dynamic, interactive environment with an ability to effectively engage students.
