BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator with 3+ years of experience who is skilled in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, and has a strong understanding of system administration, with additional capabilities in light software development and testing. The work will be conducted at Point Mugu Naval Base in Camarillo, CA. Salary The typical annual salary range for this position is $71,000.00 USD to $121,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Install, configure, and maintain an organization’s local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers

Manage and maintain IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms

Perform System monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems

Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups

Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory environment and policies

Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access

Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses

May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software

Implement and monitor cyber-security measures to protect data and system integrity

Carry out regular system updates and patching to keep the IT infrastructure up-to-date and secure

Participate in light software development and testing tasks to support our IT operations

Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues

Develop and maintain system documentation for efficient operation and troubleshooting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of operating systems, networking, system administration and hardware

Between 3 and 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description

Mid-level expertise in system administration with 3-5 years of experience

Strong understanding of network components, i.e., routers, switches, firewall

Proficiency in Windows and Linux platforms

Understanding of cyber-security principles and practices with DOD guidelines

Experience with PKI certificates, and SSL Web Server and Client certificates

Familiarity with system patching and updating procedures

Light software development and testing skills, preferably with Cypress and Jest, 1-2 years of experience

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Relevant professional certifications

CompTIA Security+

CompTIA A+

CompTIA Network+

CompTIA Data+

Linux Professional Institute (LPI)

Active Directory

Hypervisors (Hyper-V, VMware)

It is a plus to have

Prior military experience, particularly in IT or System Administration

Kubernetes experience

Tier 2 IT Help Desk experience

Education BS or BA degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline.

Clearance

Condition of employment – must have a T5 Top Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
