Overview
Unit Coordinator serves as clinical liaison and departmental leader, ensuring high‑quality patient care, staff development, and smooth unit operations.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and mentor nursing staff. Act as unit liaison with physicians, management, and clinical teams. Assist managers with hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, and staffing. Maintain a safe, patient‑centered environment and meet quality standards. Coordinate day‑to‑day unit operations, including patient placements and staff assignments. Participate in audits, accreditation activities, and quality improvement initiatives. Support staffing and scheduling to meet department budget and clinical needs. Coach staff on performance, conduct performance coaching and develop personal development plans. Facilitate unit meetings, charge nurse responsibilities, and clinical recovery issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing; 2+ years clinical experience required. Master's degree in Nursing preferred. Registered Nurse licensed in good standing with the State of Michigan. Advanced Nursing specific certification preferred. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills. Problem‑solving ability and work independently with accountability. Fluency in spoken and written English; competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
