First Shift (United States of America) Responsibilities
Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities include assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Educates and mentors Advanced Practice Provider I and other clinical staff including nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students. The position involves short, unscheduled notice for reporting to duty, variable hours per payroll period, and the temporary nature of appointments to this title; it is a non-benefit earning title. The pay range for this position is $74.33 - $87.15 hourly, including a geographic differential. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications
Two primary clinical education paths are recognized: Nurse Practitioner Educational Path
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by HCFA; and Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing. Note: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by HCFA within nine (9) months of appointment as required by Medicare. Physician Assistant Educational Path
License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or Bachelor’s or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department. AND—the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a Roswell Park service line or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park. Note: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title. Note: Degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
