Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 5724) at GameStop – Jacksonville, FL. This role supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and drives a sales culture through guest-focused service and product knowledge. Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, promote promotions, and circulating through the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, visual/operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system; provide receipts and ensure high-quality guest service. Respond to guest questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed. Promote GameStop benefits, including new title reservations, trade-in programs, and Pro Rewards. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines. Observe performance and provide feedback to the Store Manager; address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; maintain records in the HR system as needed. Ensure onboarding and training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics. Assist in scheduling, ensure breaks/meals are accounted for, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll and ensure accurate timekeeping and payments. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily. Protect assets through inventory control, loss prevention, scam awareness; inspect packages at closing as appropriate. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the floor. Verify daily transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork, and manage cash and deposits as required. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate issues to management. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls promptly with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Help maintain store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening/closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States; at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business/marketing/merchandising preferred. Retail management experience preferred (6 months); prior retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred (2+ years). Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills; genuine guest service for every visit. Clear verbal and written communication; English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; work independently or in a team; meet performance expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and organizational skills; complete required paperwork. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Problem-solving, reliability, judgment, and the ability to work alone or with others; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
