Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including giving correct change, receipts, and ensuring high-quality service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop guest benefits such as new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Provide feedback to the Store Manager on associate performance and address unsatisfactory performance as directed. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to shifts; ensure associates know policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels. Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify compensation. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order. Fulfills Omni-Channel orders and shipments daily. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing if needed; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties. Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and organize stock on the sales floor. Manage daily financial tasks in the POS system and ensure closeout paperwork is accurate; maintain cash availability and deposits as required. Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and communicate with Store or District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain organized store records/files and ensure manuals are up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and opening/closing procedures. Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills and Abilities

Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication; English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and both independently and in a team. Meet performance expectations, including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace. Operate POS system; basic math and alfabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork and follow written or diagrammed instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Handle pressure, adapt to changes, and solve problems creatively. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work alone; stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and use ladders as needed. Onboarding may require understanding military ranks/insignia for stores on military bases. Job descriptions are subject to change.
