The Opportunity:

Drive sales and retail excellence across the Southern California region, owning door strategy, sell-through, events, and flawless brand execution. Partner with Education, Retail Ops, and retailer teams to coach BA’s, deliver training, analyze results, and strengthen store relationships. You will measure success- hitting targets, elevating client experience, clean merchandising/inventory, and timely reporting.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Sales & Business Development

Develop and execute account plans to exceed seasonal sales objectives for Dr. Barbara Sturm skincare

Leverage data insights (sell-through, rank, basket size, CRM opportunities) to identify growth opportunities and refine strategy

Partner with retailers (Sephora, Bluemercury, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, & independent apothecaries/spas) to plan animations, events, and sampling strategies

Manage budgets, ensuring ROI on education, events, and promotional investments

Education & Training

Collaborate with Education to design and deliver impactful skincare training that highlight Dr. Sturm’s medical background, ingredient science, and application rituals

Provide in-store coaching and one-to-one training to elevate Beauty Advisors and skincare specialists’ expertise and confidence

Ensure consistent articulation of the brand story, science meets luxury, across all retail doors

Client Experience & Events

Lead high-touch consumer events, masterclasses, and clienteling initiatives in collaboration with retail partners

Ensure brand image and service standards are maintained in line with Dr. Sturm’s global guidelines

Support implementation of retail VM and merchandising to bring the clinical yet luxurious aesthetic of Dr. Barbara Sturm to life

Relationship Management

Serve as the primary business partner to store and corporate retailer teams, aligning on business opportunities and sales strategies

Build trusted relationships with top Beauty Advisors, estheticians, and skincare specialists

Partner with VM/Store Design to ensure counters reflect the brand’s clinical luxury identity

We’d Love to Meet You If You Have:

5+ years of account executive or field sales experience in prestige skincare, beauty, or luxury

Strong knowledge of clinical skincare, dermatological treatments, and ingredient science

Experience driving results in luxury department stores, and beauty specialty retail environments

Demonstrated success in leading trainings, events, and in-store activations

High emotional intelligence, strong communication, and the ability to inspire others

Proven ability to exceed sales targets while maintaining brand equity and luxury standards

Must be able to work across all retail partners without restriction or conflict of interest.

Passion for results, beauty innovation, and the artistry of client service

Ability to travel across Pacific Northwest (approximately 60%)

Reliable transportation is necessary, a valid driver’s license are required

Compensation:

As required by California's salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000-$95,000. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
