Job Description
Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Responsibilities
Performing Weekly Galileo, OTD, Flaw detector and lasermike certifications/calibrations. Change FTD belt, cleaning FTD cutter, and ensure ppu misters and cutters are working. Perform reboots on equipment. Perform other Level 1 troubleshooting tasks as documented in training. Perform general maintenance tasks on the Draw tower. Act as communications hub for the team, relaying troubleshooting needs to the Tech Team. Identify chronic issues with equipment and escalate to Tech Team. Continue functioning as a Fibermaking MT. Requirements
Must be Draw certified. Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to follow checklist. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities while working in an irregular work environment with changing priorities and multiple tasks. Must have the ability to function independently with minimal supervision and with strong attention to detail and follow up/completion of assigned action items. Must maintain certification and function as Fibermaking MT on shift. Strong teamwork and leadership skills. 12hr rotating shift schedule, overtime required as needed. Benefits
