Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate courses in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and General Chemistry. Mentoring and working closely with undergraduate students. Collaborating with colleagues in Panama City to promote the chemistry program and STEM initiatives related to local academic programs and recruitment. Coordinating courses with colleagues in the Chemistry Department in Tallahassee. Participating in program and campus service, including committee work, community outreach, and laboratory coordination. Opportunities for engagement in additional research; this is not a required component of this teaching faculty position. Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry (or related field) from an accredited institution. Graduate students expecting to have their degree conferred prior to the start date will be considered. Applicants must also have demonstrated experience teaching Organic Chemistry at the college or university level. Preferred Qualifications

We are especially seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of university teaching experience, in-person or online. Strong preference will be given to candidates who can teach Organic Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry Lab, and Biochemistry I. Ability to teach General Chemistry I & II and related labs is important. Preferred candidates should have strong lab management skills and the ability to collaborate with other STEM instructors on student success initiatives. A demonstrable and quantifiable record of instructional excellence and solid pedagogy is preferred. Helpful

The Division of Undergraduate Studies at Florida State University and FSU Panama City invite applications for a full-time, specialized (non-tenure-track) Teaching Faculty position in Organic Chemistry, available as a 9- or 12-month appointment.
