As a Day Hab Specialist (DHS) in one of our four Day Habilitation Centers (located in Ulster and Dutchess Counties), you will play a crucial role in the lives of adults with autism by engaging in enriching activities that foster independence and the achievement of personal goals. Whether you are helping someone learn how to cook, use technology, engage in artistic expression, garden, or communicate, you will plan and implement instructional activities that cultivate the well-being of those we serve. You will even support individuals with autism as they practice new skills out in the community. No prior experience is necessary; we seek reliable, compassionate individuals eager to assist others in attaining goals and independence. This job allows you to share your hobbies and interests, participating in vocational and recreational activities with those you support. Responsibilities

Work with the team to develop and implement an ISP that meets the requirements of OPWDD for each participant in their service delivery area. Assist in residential homes and provide transportation using Anderson vehicles. Attend to the educational, physical, social, and emotional needs of residents, while assisting the team with daily programming, data collection, supervision and safety of residents in an assigned service delivery area. Collaborate with all Anderson Center for Autism staff to ensure high-quality resident services are provided and supported at all times. Requirements

High School Diploma/ GED Valid NYS Driver’s License Must be 21 years or older Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the agency’s crisis intervention Benefits
