Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. InAlliance, a nonprofit that provides support to adults with developmental disabilities, is looking for an experienced Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructor to teach daily living skills to adults with developmental disabilities. The ILS Instructor provides case management, instruction, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them develop the skills necessary to live independently. This role involves participating in planning team meetings, providing hands-on training, and promoting self-sufficiency in areas such as activities of daily living, community involvement, and personal development.
Essential Functions
Provide personalized instruction and support based on participants’ needs and goals.
Develop and conduct creative, engaging activities tailored to each participant’s learning styles and needs.
Use various instructional techniques and resources to promote independence.
Assist with assessments through information gathering and observation.
Help develop individualized plans based on participant preferences, needs, and interests.
Collaborate with outside agencies on available resources.
Stay organized and manage weekly schedules based on participant needs.
Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork promptly, according to assignments and deadlines.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external parties.
Maintain ongoing communication with each participant’s circle of support.
Flexibility and ability to accommodate changes to caseload and scheduling.
Provide input at participant meetings as a part of a planning team.
Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without accommodations.

Experience
At least two years of direct instructional experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), preferably in an inclusive and integrated setting.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Education and Experience
AA Degree in a related field
CPR/First Aid Certification
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be able to verify employment eligibility under USCIS I-9 requirements
