Public Safety Officer Location : Wilton Campus: Wilton Medical Arts, Wilton Mall, Saratoga Surgery Center Employment Type : Full Time Shift/Schedule : Two Day Shifts available: 6am-2pm and 7:30am-3:30pm Department : Public Safety Salary Range : $19.38 - $31.82 hourly, based on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to deter criminal acts and to report unsafe conditions as per the department policy and procedure manual.

Respond to all codes according to hospital policy. Assist in controlling disorderly/combative persons in emergencies per code policies and procedures. Prioritize tasks during emergencies and other situations.

Enforce traffic and parking regulations per the parking management plan. Issue parking violations as required. Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, medical staff, visitors and property. Assist motorists by phone for issues such as lockouts, changing tires, or dead batteries.

Maintain logs for valuable items and notifications when lost items are located. Secure firearms and contraband as defined by department procedures. Respond to requests for assistance and unlock doors for authorized persons as defined in procedures.

Provide escort services as needed. Perform emergency transport services for employees, lab specimens, and medical equipment.

Maintain a daily activity log and document unusual circumstances, unsafe conditions, malfunctions and fire hazards. Use hospital systems, including Access Control and CCTV, proficiently.

Process admissions and discharges from the morgue. Assist with helicopter transport.

Use hospital systems to document care and support operations. Seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction.

Serve as a positive, professional representative of the hospital and community.

What You Bring A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in military, law enforcement, security, or closely related field; an AAS degree or pursuing a degree in criminal justice or related field will be considered in lieu of experience.

A valid New York State driver's license; must be at least 21 years of age and approved to drive Saratoga Hospital vehicles.

A current NYS Security Guard License. If not licensed, submit the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course completion certificate. You will have 30 days from hire to obtain your NYS Guard Card. Must complete TEAM Essentials & Advanced de-escalation training as well as BLS within 30 days of hire. Must complete any other required hospital training.

Healthcare security experience is strongly preferred.
