Overview
Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the position of Upper School English Teacher (part-time, 6-month sabbatical replacement) from January-June, 2026.
Responsibilities
Teaching three introductory English courses to Upper School students in grade 9 and one AP-level English Language & Composition course to students in grade 11
Contributing to the life of the Upper School as part-time member of the faculty
Qualifications and attributes
Successful candidates will value collaboration with colleagues, bring creativity and innovation to curriculum development, and deeply enjoy working with adolescents and supporting them in achieving high levels of interest and mastery in English language and literature.
Candidates must be creative, curious, kind, and detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication and executive skills.
Ability to work and multi-task effectively both independently and collaboratively in an active school environment, with a willingness to add value to all aspects of community life at the School.
Interest in using technology thoughtfully and creatively to enhance teaching and learning, and experience employing a variety of pedagogical approaches for different learning styles.
Experience with inclusive teaching practices, cross-cultural competencies, and a commitment to equity and advancing the School’s mission.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
3-5 years of classroom teaching experience
Significant coursework in a relevant subject
This is a part-time, 6-month sabbatical position reporting to the Director of the Upper School.
