Base pay range: $26.98/hour (range provided by University of Houston). Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Notes: The following monetary benefits are available where applicable: special event overtime pay; uniforms and equipment provided; paid university holidays; education incentive after probation; state benefits and retirement; tuition benefits up to 3 hours/week based on eligibility; hazardous duty pay of $10 per month for lifetime service credit. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive preference in employment over other applicants who do not have greater qualification. All positions at the University of Houston System are security sensitive and require a criminal history check. Enforces state and federal laws, along with university policies; enforces traffic laws, conducts traffic stops, and issues citations and violations as appropriate Patrols assigned areas to protect persons and property; performs building checks and extensive foot patrols indoors and outdoors Detects and solves crimes; makes arrests, collects evidence, and testifies in court as necessary Responds to emergency calls; assists students, faculty, and staff with questions and problems they may have Prepares reports as necessary Trains new incoming police officers (PO II & III) Deters criminal activity by maintaining a strong visible presence Qualifications

No experience necessary Must maintain a valid, current driver's license; police officer certification is required TCOLE License or enrollment in an Accredited Police Academy Police Officer II
Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience Must maintain a valid, current driver's license Police officer certification is required TCOLE certification is required Police Officer III
Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience Must maintain a valid, current driver's license Police officer certification is required TCOLE certification is required Additional information
