The Quality Manager is responsible to lead the overall quality & continuous improvement activities including achievement of annual operating plans, staffing, performance reviews, succession plans, empowerment, motivation, and safety and career/skill development. Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible to lead the overall quality & continuous improvement activities including achievement of annual operating plans, staffing, performance reviews, succession plans, empowerment, motivation, and safety and career/skill development.

Leadership Responsibilities

Leads, mentors, and coaches’ employees including Quality Engineers and Technicians.

Duties/Responsibilities

Collaborates with all functions, especially Operations and Engineering to assure the design of quality processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards across all MFG and business processes. Drives customer / internal / supplier PPM reductions and continuous improvements that results in exceptional customer experience. Primary customer facing Quality professional capable of handling all customer activities and bringing quality issues to resolution quickly utilizing 8D CAPA methods. Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Business (Quality) Management Systems. Capability to drive robustness and expertise into the APQP and PPAP processes. Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures that are commensurate with the needs to ensure compliance to customer quality expectations. Ability to teach and drive Six Sigma and Lean principles as the primary methodologies for “how we do the work”. Ability to develop critical systems and processes that enable the reduction of defects. Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Develops a quality assurance team by recruiting, selecting, and developing employees. Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, controlling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective / preventive actions. Brings an attitude of collaboration and teamwork in support of high performing teams that can deliver positive results. Adherence to the company code of conduct and other compliance requirements Other duties and activities as assigned by business leader.

Required Skills/Abilities

Results oriented professional with a track record of improving all relevant Quality KPI’s/metrics. Expert level in drawing interpretations and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. Six Sigma experienced with history of personal practical application. Robust experience in metals precision machining and assembly environment. Expertise in ISO 9001, IATF (TS16949) and ISO14001. Relevant Tier 1 or 2 Automotive experience and expertise. Strong knowledge and expertise in Metrology & Gaging practices. Ability to manage and communicate at all levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build strong teams and lead performance. Expert level in MS Office, MiniTab and business communications software.

Education And Experience

Associates with min. 10+ years’ experience, or bachelor’s with 7+ years’ experience. 7-10+ years leading the Quality manger role in a manufacturing company. Tier 1 or 2 Automotive OEM experience required. ASQ Certified Quality Technician / Engineer and/or Quality Auditor. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, talk, and hear.

The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Seniority level
