Overview
OpenEye is expanding our Systems Engineering team and looking for a hard-working Systems Technician with experience building great software and hardware products. You will work closely with smart and motivated people across a broad spectrum of technologies to develop outstanding products that help businesses improve safety and increase business intelligence. This position covers several key Systems Engineering responsibilities at OpenEye, including but not limited to testing hardware products, firmware and software, cloud connected components, protocols and APIs. Daily duties include software and firmware qualification for embedded, x86 and cloud platforms, reproducing issues reported in the field, root cause analysis of escalated customer issues, testing installers images and patches, creating and executing test plans. Role & Responsibilities
Evaluates IP camera firmware, including all associated functions and integration points with OpenEye software platforms. Performs agile QA on technology components provided by OpenEye and external engineering teams. Evaluates system performance, throughput and reliability of products. Reproduces and troubleshoots escalated hardware & software issues reported in the field or by internal teams. Utilizes test tool platforms to validate and troubleshoot integrated IP Video components. Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned. Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of related experience or a related Information Technology degree Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems and their various technology stacks. Experience in system performance analysis, understanding of network bandwidth, CPU utilization, storage throughput, etc. Preferred
Familiarity with bug reporting and issue tracking platforms (Jira preferred). Pay range is $19.00 - $30.00. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
