Overview
The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and assisting with both routine and complex accounting tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the Finance team. Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate entries. Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reporting. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and supporting documentation. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoicing, payment, and reconciliation discrepancies. Support the finance team in preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring actual cash activity. Support FP&A activities by preparing reports, conducting variance analysis, and assisting with data-driven decision-making initiatives. Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Assist with payroll processing, including maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Set up, manage, and file multi-state sales tax accounts, ensuring timely compliance with varying state requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhance efficiency and accuracy. Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager/Controller. Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in accounts payable/receivable, payroll, or general ledger work. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage 100 or similar ERP systems is a plus). Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and multi-state tax regulations. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. What We Offer
