Overview
Camp Nonesuch Counselor – Weston, MA (The Rivers School). The Rivers School is a 6-12 co-ed independent day school in Weston, MA, just outside Boston. Camp Nonesuch is hiring camp counselors for the 2023 summer camp season, running June 26 through August 18. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Preference is to work for the entire summer, with options available to work a limited number of two-week sessions. Position Summary
We are looking for counselors who have a passion for working with children ages 7-14 and can teach activities they also have a passion for. Examples include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, ceramics, weaving, basketry, multiple sports, archery, fantasy games, woodworking, rocketry, adventure games, drama, music, and more. Our program is elective for campers, providing a wide range of possible activities. Counselors have the freedom to design and deliver unique, fun activities that fit into the camp program. Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging activities aligned with camper interests and the camp program. • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for campers aged 7-14. • Support all aspects of day-to-day camp operations as needed. Preferred Qualities
Passion and enthusiasm Great sense of fun Experience working with kids Teaching or tutoring experience Requirements
Counselors must be 18 or older, with opportunities for the right 16-17-year-old to work as a counselor. Additional pre-season training is required (2 days). All counselors must successfully complete a Massachusetts CORI and SORI check. The Rivers School
