Woodcraft Rangers opened its doors in Los Angeles in 1922 and has since focused on guiding young people toward purposeful lives. The organization is inclusive, youth-led, and rooted in the Woodcraft Way, a holistic framework that develops body, mind, spirit, and service. Woodcraft Rangers provides expanded learning opportunities and serves more than 20,000 youth annually across 110+ Title I schools in LA County. What We Do
Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, enrichment, and summer learning. Services have expanded to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lifecraft supports college and career development for staff. Job Summary
Club Leaders are responsible for a fun and positive learning environment for club participants and will support clubs of approximately 20 children. The role includes working with a site coordinator and a community liaison. All staff can choose between working in school sites, sleepaway camp, or both. The Club Leader position is on-site and includes training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and at school sites. Role Overview
Ensure students are in a safe environment (physical and emotional) and foster an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful atmosphere for participants, staff, and families. Develop and lead age-appropriate activities aligned with a whole-child approach (social-emotional learning, skill building, self-esteem, leadership). Monitor participant attendance and engagement. Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and stakeholders. Collaborate to develop culminating activities or events that showcase participant work and accomplishments. Request required materials timely so the Site Coordinator can ensure availability within budget. Comply with safety requirements and emergency protocols; stay up to date on trainings and certifications. May be required to attend off-site field trips. Maintain and submit student attendance daily. Participate in staff development trainings as required (approximately 15 hours across weekends/intersessional days in spring). Club Leaders are accountable to the Site Coordinator and Program Manager for assigned duties. Other related duties as assigned. Why work for Woodcraft Rangers

Detail-oriented, energetic, ambitious, proactive, and positive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail. Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of staff and peers during in-person training. Requirements
Knowledge and experience in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities. Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA in Child Development or related field preferred); prior experience with K-12 students in academic or recreational settings preferred. Work well with young children and/or youth. Good oral and written communication. Computer literacy and willingness to learn. Valid LIVE Scan, TB clearance, and CPR certification. Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling. Physical Demands
