Youngstown Country Club is seeking a qualified Assistant Superintendent to work alongside the Superintendent in planning and executing daily operations and evaluating current agronomic programs. The role involves disease and insect scouting, daily maintenance, crew management, irrigation scheduling and repair, and pesticide/nutrient application. The goal is to prepare the Assistant for advancement to a Superintendent position. Responsibilities: Train personnel in golf course maintenance Supervise the maintenance crew Assist with mowing, irrigation scheduling, and repair Assist with pesticide and fertilizer applications, maintaining records and inventory Manage soil moisture levels daily Diagnose and repair irrigation system issues Conduct daily scouting for disease and pests Qualifications: Candidates in turf school expecting to graduate in Spring 2025 are encouraged to apply 2-4 year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred 2-3 years of golf course maintenance experience Knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and equipment operation Pesticide applicator's license or ability to obtain one within 6 months Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Compensation:
