Overview YWCA Charleston's Past & Present Boutique offers a diverse selection of gently used men's, women's, and children's clothing, accessories, shoes, and gift items.

Beyond retail, the YWCA Past & Present supports the community. Clothing from the store is provided free of charge to YWCA program participants, ensuring that everyone has access to essential items.

Proceeds support the operations of the YWCA Shanklin Center for Senior Enrichment, a community of full-time subsidized independent living and handicap-accessible apartments for victims of elderly abuse, and our Alicia McCormick Empowerment Homes, a transitional housing program for women and children providing up to 24 months of housing and support services for those rebuilding their lives after homelessness due to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, or stalking.

Responsibilities The Store Manager will play a pivotal role in daily store operations. They are responsible for opening and closing, managing cash flow, providing reports to management, and overseeing paid staff and volunteers at the store. Their primary goal is to ensure the store functions smoothly and provide excellent customer service while working to increase business.

Manage cash flow and perform daily cash reconciliation.

Supervise and lead a team of staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, and scheduling.

Schedule store coverage to meet customer needs.

Review and approve timesheets.

Provide excellent customer service and resolve any issues effectively.

Oversee inventory management, including receiving donations, pricing, and maintaining an organized stock.

Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while maintaining affordability.

Ensure compliance with YWCA of Charleston policies and procedures and relevant external regulations.

Coordinate with executive staff to report store performance and contribute to strategic planning.

Implement and oversee sustainability initiatives including donation management and recycling programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Able to support the mission verbally and in writing.

Strong leadership abilities that focus on team building and motivation.

Decision-making skills that affect other people, financial resources, or the image and reputation of the YWCA.

Professional verbal and written communication skills for varied audiences including customers, YWCA partners, directors, and donors.

Strong recordkeeping, organization, and prioritization skills to respond to store needs with a strong sense of urgency and purpose to complete tasks.

Be at least 18 years of age and have a reliable form of transportation.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalency.

One (1) year of relevant supervisory work experience.

Retail experience preferred.
