YWCA Charleston's Past & Present Boutique offers a diverse selection of gently used men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, accessories, shoes, and gift items. Proceeds support YWCA programs and services in the community. Clothing from the store is provided free of charge to YWCA program participants to help ensure access to essential items. Role purpose
The
Store Manager
will oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing, cash flow management, reporting to management, and supervising paid staff and volunteers. The primary goal is to ensure the store runs smoothly, delivers excellent customer service, and supports business growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage cash flow and perform daily cash reconciliation. Supervise and lead a team of staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, and scheduling. Schedule store coverage to meet customer needs. Review and approve timesheets. Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues effectively. Oversee inventory management, including receiving donations, pricing, and maintaining an organized stock. Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while maintaining affordability. Ensure compliance with YWCA of Charleston policies and relevant external regulations. Coordinate with executive staff to report store performance and contribute to strategic planning. Implement and oversee sustainability initiatives including donation management and recycling programs. Other duties as assigned. Additional requisites
Able to support the mission verbally and in writing. Strong leadership abilities focused on team building and motivation. Decision-making skills that affect people, financial resources, or the organization’s image and reputation. Professional verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences including customers, partners, directors, and donors. Strong recordkeeping, organization, and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency and purpose. Be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation. Must pass a criminal background check. Education and experience
High school diploma or equivalency. One (1) year of relevant supervisory work experience. Retail experience preferred. About YWCA Charleston
