Full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager to manage day-to-day operational activities for the City of Clewiston, Florida, comprising a wastewater treatment facility and two operators. Coordinate and communicate with operations, client representatives, contractors, and assigned engineering firms to ensure effective system operation and optimization, compliance reporting, staff development, and implementation and management of an asset management program. Administer and implement routine and capital repair and replacement projects; participate in emergency response for process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, alarm events, etc.; perform work in a safe and professional manner following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. Participate in an on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal hours; respond to emergency situations and operate under inclement weather as needed. Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. Due to the small size of the facility, the Plant Manager and operators participate in an on-call rotation for coverage outside normal workday hours, and shifts may include weekends. 10 to 15 years of experience managing wastewater treatment facilities, including distributions, collections, and solids handling systems. Florida Wastewater Operators License. High school or equivalent; technical/vocational training; college degree preferred with focus in Environmental areas. Commitment to safety; follow all SOPs and meet DOT, OSHA, and other requirements; conduct routine facility inspections; interact with regulators as required. Collaborative and team leadership approach. Financial acumen with oversight of operating and capital budgets. Active participation in recruiting and supporting local wastewater/water school programs. Direct participation in operation, maintenance, and repair of water/wastewater facilities, including predictive maintenance systems. Oversight and use of Operations Database for process control, optimization, and regulatory reporting. Proven track record with regulators and understanding of regulations and reporting requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with computers (Excel, Word, HACH WIMS) and report generation. Identify and participate in activities to support the local community. Valid Driver’s License and good driving record. Background check, pre-placement physical, and drug screen required before employment. Ability to partner with local leadership, including attending city staff and council meetings as appropriate. $79,000 – $87,350 per year. This role is eligible for straight overtime pay for hours worked over 40/week. Pay will be determined based on experience and licensure. Employee Support & Benefits
