Your Team's Impact

The Enterprise Data Sales (EDS) group seeks a Principal Energy Sales Specialist for the Deep Sector Sales Team. You will build FactSet’s presence across North American energy markets, with a focus on driving outbound and consultative sales to corporate and investment clients. Capitalize on your market expertise to disrupt legacy supplier relationships and deliver client value. The role combines product knowledge, strategic business development, and a partnership-oriented approach to maximize client value and company growth.

What You'll Do

Proactively identify, engage, and qualify prospective clients in target markets (corporates, private equity, venture capital), reigniting outbound sales focused on FactSet’s Energy Solutions.

Collaborate with Generalist Account Teams, Sales Managers, and Client Relationship Managers to drive Annual Subscription Value (ASV) and deepen client engagement with FactSet’s Deep Sector Energy content.

Own and manage the sales pipeline; highlight and pursue opportunities to increase ASV within existing and new accounts.

Lead initial prospect discovery calls to understand needs, tailor solution discussions, and schedule technical follow-ups with subject matter experts (SMEs).

Organize and conduct demonstrations of FS Energy’s Premium Workstation and facilitate trial data feeds for interested clients.

Coordinate market dynamics sessions to showcase FactSet’s analytical capabilities and BTU Analytics (a FactSet company) products, providing actionable industry insights.

Work closely with Product Strategy to provide feedback for product and solution enhancements.

Track and stay current with industry trends, competitive analysis, and economic factors to inform sales strategy and maintain a competitive edge.

Required Skills

What We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree

10+ years’ experience in a client-facing role within oil, gas, or power markets

Deep understanding of energy market fundamentals and experience with corporate and/or investment segment sales

Proven presentation, communication, and consultative selling skills—able to build trust in-person, virtually, and via written formats

Demonstrated success in identifying, qualifying, and winning new business within target segments, and in expanding relationships with existing clients

High initiative, strong sense of ownership, and natural enthusiasm for innovation and client impact

Proven ability to quickly learn new platforms and conduct effective product demonstrations

Target Clients & Opportunities

Enterprise clients across exploration and production (E&P), midstream, downstream, trading, utilities, private equity, and power development

Geography focus: Houston, Dallas, Connecticut, New York City, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Midland, and related U.S. energy hubs

Roles targeted within accounts: strategy, fundamental analysis, marketing and trading, development

Mix of “net new” account wins and expansion opportunities (“land and expand”) with established FactSet clients

The budgeted base salary amount range for this position in the states of New York, Connecticut, and Colorado is $120,000 - $150,000
