Strategic Account Manager, Strategic Accounts

Amazon Web Services (AWS) invites applications for the Strategic Account Manager, Strategic Accounts role. The SAM partners with customers to build strategic relationships, articulate a clear vision, and generate business value. The SAM sells at the most strategic level within the account, implements broad strategies for customer acceptance and service implementation, and works with AWS resources—including Executives, Solution Architects, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, Support, Service Teams, and Professional Services—to support customer interests. Dotted line responsibility for downstream sales and technical resources is included, and developing formal case studies and other references highlighting activity and workloads running on AWS is core to the role. Key Responsibilities

Lead and direct the AWS customer account team. Identify and build trusted advisor relationships with key influencers and decision-makers, specifically CxOs at the customer. Work closely with internal AWS teams (executives, solution architects, business development, marketing, partners, enterprise support, service teams and professional services), as well as external SI and ISV partners, to support the best business solution for customers. Define a CXO relationship strategy within the customer, coordinate executive business reviews, and maintain customer satisfaction levels. Write executive briefing documents for, and communicate with, the most senior executives at the customer. Manage the sales pipeline via Salesforce and facilitate all stages of a sale. Participate and lead in the negotiation and closing of legal agreements, such as EAs and contracts, such as PPAs. Maintain an operating knowledge of AWS’s service catalog and relate them to solving customers’ business problems. Help define product requirements by understanding and evangelizing the needs of customers and providing feedback via PFRs or the service teams. Work with marketing and communications to develop formal references, PR and case studies highlighting impactful customer activity and workloads running on AWS. Basic Qualifications

7+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C-level executives. Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large-scale technology deals. Preferred Qualifications

AWS certification, or Associate's degree or above.
