Posting Information Posting Information Position Title Retail and Catering Service Associate Position Type Staff FTE .75 General Employment Period Mid-August – mid-May General Work Schedule (days of week) Monday – Friday with frequent weekends; other shifts as assigned based on event schedule. General shift hours Mon-Thu 2:30 – 11:00 p.m. Fri 12:30 – 9:00 p.m. Other shifts as assigned based on event schedule. Benefits Eligible? Yes Job Summary/Basic Function The primary responsibility of this position is to provide customer service to Dining Services retail and catering guests in the short-order restaurant, convenience store, concessions, and at events including replenishment and service of food and beverage items; preparation of hot and cold food; set-up and clean-up; cash handling. Provide excellent customer service in Retail units and at Catered events, including preparation and replenishment of food and beverages. Provide direction to student and on-call employees. Clean and maintain all foodservice equipment; clean as needed, and adhere to all health and safety practices. Accept and process payment for goods purchased. Assist with weekly and monthly product orders and inventory. Provide bar service, including set-up, service, and clean-up. Maintain service records. Minimum Qualifications · High School Diploma/ GED ; · One year related experience. · ServSafe certificate or similar food safety course certificate or pass ServSafe exam within the first year of employment. · Requires knowledge of working directly with customer in a food service environment. · Valid drivers license and insurable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of food service equipment such as bag-in-box soda dispenser, pizza oven, grill, fryer, etc Basic employment skills: reading, oral and written communication, and performing simple arithmetic, operating basic office equipment. Standard restaurant and cooking skills (e.g., operating deep fryer, pizza oven, grill, steam kettle, dish washing machine, cash register); Broad range of technical skills, (e.g., generating cash register reports, inventory counting, basic math knowledge including recipe conversions); Ability to prepare short order restaurant food items (pizzas, grilled and fried foods, etc) in a timely manner. Skills in giving direction to young adult employees. Skills with operating cash register including various types of transactions. Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of people. Ability to engage our customers with an attitude of willingness and dedication to serve.
