Gwinnett County Government is seeking a Police Officer for a scheduled hiring event on November 14 and 15, 2025.
Event Details
Friday, November 14, 2025: 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Saturday, November 15, 2025: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: Gwinnett County Police Training Center, 854 Winder Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30045
Appointment highly recommended; applicants must submit an application prior to the event. Conditional job offers may be given during this event.
Responsibilities
Complete the first phase of the two‑phase selection process, including an obstacle course, orientation, detailed application, and oral interview.
Participate in full‑time law enforcement duties, field training, academy requirements, and ongoing field instruction with veteran officers.
Adhere to Gwinnett County Police Department policies, including pre‑employment drug testing and random drug/alcohol testing in accordance with the County Drug and Alcohol‑Free Workplace.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
U.S. Citizenship (eligible for Georgia P.O.S.T. certification)
Valid driver’s license from state of residency
Age 21 years (minimum 20 years at time of application)
Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation (criminal, controlled substance, driving, work history) and physical agility testing.
Compensation
Base salary: $53,772 annually
Incentives: up to $5,300 hiring incentive for new hires
Pay incentives for education: $55,385 (3% for Associate’s degree) or $56,998 (6% for Bachelor’s degree)
5% night shift differential
