Raritan Valley Community College’s Workforce Training Center seeks experienced professionals to teach non-credit Business and Data Analytics courses for adult learners and working professionals.
Job Description These courses provide participants with essential tools and techniques to make informed, data‑driven decisions in the workplace.
Skills & Course Topics
Data foundations: collection, cleaning, and preparation
Analytical tools and methods: Excel for business analytics, SQL for database queries, introductory Python or R
Data visualization and storytelling: Tableau, Power BI, and other platforms
Applied decision‑making: using data insights to solve real business problems
Business intelligence applications: dashboards, performance metrics, and reporting
Essential Duties
Deliver engaging, interactive instruction that combines real‑world applications, industry case studies, and hands‑on practice.
Develop lesson plans and materials that make complex analytics concepts accessible to adult learners.
Guide students in applying analytical methods to practical business scenarios and projects.
Provide timely feedback, encourage active participation, and foster a supportive learning environment.
Track student attendance, monitor engagement and skill development, and adjust instruction to meet varied learning needs.
Collaborate with Workforce Training Center staff to ensure courses remain current with industry trends and employer demands.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Demonstrated professional experience in business/data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles
Proficiency with industry‑standard tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI
Prior teaching or training experience with adult learners strongly preferred
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to connect with learners from diverse backgrounds
