The Edmonton Country Club, one of Alberta’s premier private golf clubs, is located along the picturesque banks of the North Saskatchewan River minutes from downtown but seemingly far from the city. Established in 1896, the club is steeped in a tradition of excellence. The course was redesigned by Canadian golf architect Stanley Thompson between 1945-1947 and represents the best of Thompson’s design features in a serene, parkland setting. With a full and active membership and a desire to continually enhance the facilities, the club completed an 18‑hole green and bunker renovation in 2023-2024 and embraced an exciting new chapter in 2025.
Job Summary Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, the Assistant/Associate Professional will play an instrumental role in leading the successful and efficient operation of our golf department. The candidate will be personable, professional, possess excellent communication skills, and will be member focused with first‑hand experience in delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
Lead by example; presenting highest standard of professionalism for our team of golf professionals and supporting golf services staff to follow
Assist in organization and execution of golf activities including, but not limited to, events/tournaments, member leagues, corporate/charity events, winter golf simulators, lesson programs, and the tee‑time reservation system
Corporate merchandise sales
Assist with scheduling and supervising supporting Golf Operations team
Receive merchandise and manage Pro Shop inventory
Tactfully enforce and maintain club policies
Play golf with members
Assist Head Professional as required and perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Leadership desire and capability
Strong communication and customer service skills
Team player who wants to be involved in all aspects of Pro Shop operations
Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented
Problem solving ability and focused on continually improving the member experience
Experience teaching golf with a desire and capacity to be an active instructor
Retail sales experience with an entrepreneurial approach
Club fitting and club repair knowledge and experience
Class A member of the PGA of Canada is an asset
Experience and proficiency with Jonas, Golf Genius, Club Car Visage software are assets
Compensation
Competitive salary aligned with experience ($3,500 - $4,500 per month)
8–12‑month position aligned with experience (potential for year‑round)
