Position Key Accountabilities:
Patrol: Patrols university buildings and property on foot to prevent theft, vandalism or fire. Calls for Service: Responds to calls for service and provides requested services in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures. Screening: Actively screens all persons entering university facilities; challenges persons without appropriate identification and all suspicious persons. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/ Certification/ Skills:
A valid Texas Driver's License is required for this position. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Certification/Skills:
IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer One or more levels of certification (Certified Healthcare Security Officer, Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer, or Certified Health Security Supervisor) is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
1 year of experience in a customer-focused position is required. 2 years of experience in a customer-focused position is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
Security Sensitive: This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
