Head Site Coach/Assistant Swim Coach

is responsible for administering the operation of the Competitive Swim Team program at an assigned site, overseeing the safe management of programs, facilities, and volunteer and staff development. This position is located at our West Boise YMCA and Boise City Aquatic Center. Location is 5959 N Discovery Way, Boise, ID 83713. Responsibilities: Work closely with Head Coach and Aquatics staff to ensure program area operations are consistent with approved Leading Practices. Supervise Lifeguarding staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, coaching, scheduling, certification management, and on-going development. Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines. Provide leadership to Competitive Swim Team staff, including onboarding, role-modeling, and on-going development. Set overall team performance goals and work with the coaching staff, parents, and participants to implement plan to accomplish set goals. Prepare statistical, analytical, and narrative reports regarding programs. Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Qualifications: Three years of competitive swim coaching experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Must be able to differentiate between colors (red, yellow, blue, and green). Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain communication with staff and members. Ability to address and make solid decisions in emergency situations. Schedule: This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. Schedule requirements include AM practices which vary 2 times per week within the school year. For PM practices, 4-5 times per week from 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Saturday practice from 7:00 am - 10:00 am and various weekend meets. Additional time commitments include office hours, weekly coaches meetings, monthly parent advisory meetings, and bimonthly leadership meetings.
