Overview

Association Manager - Membership Organizations Jaffe Management, a 50-person association management firm in New York City is seeking someone to serve as the association manager for one or multiple non-profit membership associations. The role has responsibility for managing the association and all programs within established guidelines, including all administrative and program responsibilities outlined below as well as other duties required. The successful candidate will have a background in either association management, nonprofit leadership, and/or event planning. Key attributes include exceptional communication skills, the ability to articulate the client message, relationship-building, and the capacity to manage up as well as down.

Responsibilities Overall Leadership and Strategic Planning: Assist leadership in carrying out the organization's mission. Work closely with the Board of Directors on a daily basis to execute priorities, provide suggestions, and proactively identify opportunities. Monitor and enforce the Association's policies and procedures. Prepare management reports for the Board.

Volunteer Management/Governance: Work closely with Board Leadership. Ensure organization's compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Serve as liaison to selected committees. Oversee the planning and administration of all Board Meetings. Keep officers and directors informed of operations. Collaborate with association president and volunteers/staff to set meeting agendas. Review meeting minutes and execute Board decisions.

Financial Activities: Prepare and monitor annual budget. Review accounting reports and monthly financials. Manage long/short-term investments with the Director of Finance and assist auditors as needed. Assist Treasurer as needed.

Event Planning: Oversee and execute association meetings throughout the year, including large Clinical Conference. Oversee/on-site management of all events. Provide on-site management at meetings and conferences, including Council meetings and assisting staff, volunteers, and attendees as needed.

Fundraising & Development: Work with leaders to encourage effective fundraising from industry and other interested parties. Establish plans to generate non-dues revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, and other funding streams.

Membership: Develop member relations, respond to inquiries, and maintain/improve communication channels. Assist with member inquiries and maintain strong relationships with the membership.

Communications: Review/input all other communication items as necessary. Develop communications channels through newsletters, emails, and social media. Oversee and maintain the website on a regular basis.

Other duties: This role is not meant to be all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned.

Experience Required And Application Process

Work from Home but must be in the United States. Benefits include Health, Dental Insurance, four weeks' vacation, and retirement matching. Occasional weekend and evening work is involved as well as up to 20% travel in the USA.
