The Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, not-for-profit educational corporation, seeks a part-time (75% FTE) Education Specialist for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at SUNY Potsdam. CSTEP is a NYS Education Department grant program designed to increase the number of economically disadvantaged students who are pursuing careers in Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), health fields, or licensed professions.
The annual salary range for this position is $26,674 - $27,750. The Education Specialist will support the CSTEP Director in achieving all program goals, maintaining student enrollment, and delivering comprehensive student services. Key responsibilities include academic advising, career and personal development support, preparation for internships and research opportunities, and coordination of STEM-related programming.
The role also involves collaboration across departments, student outreach and data tracking and reporting, and coordination of program activities-which may include evenings, weekends, and occasional travel. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, a related field or a STEM discipline OR equivalent combination of education and experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills and a valid NYS Driver’s License.
