Assistant Site Manager, MEP role at Gray. Gray is a fully integrated, global service provider in engineering, design, and construction, with smart manufacturing and equipment manufacturing services. What We Expect… (Essential Functions)
Studies specifications to assist planning procedures for construction based on start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project/Site Manager. Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the overall construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in the complete project estimate. Coordinate/manage all trades throughout the build process. Solicit prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval by MEP Project Managers. This is based on a list of subs and vendors established at the beginning of the project. Assist in the selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final prices. Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase orders for MEP Project Manager's review and approval. Assist in the preparation of reports, such as cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports. Review drawings (P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc.) when issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times. Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders for review by the MEP Project Manager. Assist in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project. Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion. Schedule work, including subcontractors. Determine materials, equipment and tools needed; secure appropriate supply sources. Set up and close out construction site. Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project; participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program. Procure tools and materials to be delivered on time to conform to work schedules. Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating phases of construction to prevent delays. Consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce. Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used and costs; adjust work schedules as indicated by reports or direction from the MEP Project Manager. Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance with company, industry standards, and job specifications. Ensure the company QMS program is used and maintained; generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement. Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site. Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications. This position requires travel as Gray projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA but will travel to project sites per Gray’s travel policy.
