MEP Assistant Site Manager studies the mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, and fire protection specifications to plan procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. Responsibilities Studies specifications to assist planning procedures for construction on the basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project/Site Manager. Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate. Individual poses the ability to assist in coordination/management of all trades throughout build process. Solicit prices from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers for review and approval by MEP Project Managers. Assist in selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final prices. Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase orders for MEP Project Manger's review and approval. Assist in the preparation of various reports, i.e., cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports. Review all drawings, i.e., P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times. Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager. Assist in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project. Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion. Schedule work, including subcontractors. Determine materials, equipment, and tools needed. Secure appropriate supply sources. Set up and close out construction site. Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project. And also, will be required to participate in the company’s safety portion of the QMS program. Responsible for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specification, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Individual will consult with supervisory personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within the work force. Prepares or review reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports and/or direction from MEP Project Manager. Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards in accordance to company, industry standard, and job specifications. Will insure the company QMS program is used and maintained in accordance to company standards. Individual will be able to generate reports and traceability for continuous improvement. Responsible for the communication, implementation, and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site. Other duties may be assigned. Overtime may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required. Supervisory Responsibilities Will manage multiple subordinate team members. Responsibilities include training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Indirectly manages subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers. Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and a minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications. This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S.. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.
