Overview
The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with assigned account base customers, with intentions to maximize sales/profit for every account and to expand CR market penetration within the assigned area. The Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, leads the customer account planning cycle, and ensures assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company. This position builds and sustains productive relationships with current customers and prospects to grow sales and expand CR penetration within Designers, Architects and Builders’ segments. Job Responsibilities
Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts. Coordinate involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations. Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts. Lead a joint company account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and milestones for one and three-year periods. Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis. Develop a sales action plan to service accounts with high growth potential, gather strategic intelligence, and develop leads from existing account base to better penetrate designers, architects, and builders as potential customers. Participate actively with local professional organizations linked with CR’s tactics and strategies. Create and execute plans to introduce and implement CR products in showrooms and key accounts to create demand; expand Pompeii brand penetration by assigning more displays to qualified customers/locations. Lead solution development efforts addressing customer needs, coordinating involvement of all necessary company personnel. Accountabilities and Performance Measures
Meets profitability expectations. Achieves customer objectives defined by company management. Completes customer account plans that meet company standards. Coordinates executive involvement with customers. Works with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution. Meets quarterly targets for CR- Display program when posted. Visits each customer with displays at least monthly and reports visits via email to the Director of Sales. Plans and organizes territory/region and sales calls weekly. Develops an action plan to approach designers, architects, and builders after fabricator leads are found during weekly visits. Promotes and executes product knowledge at customer locations and invites customers to CR branches when possible. Participates in and leverages branch events to increase sales. Requirements, Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or proven track record of at least 10 years of sales and marketing experience. Prefer knowledge and experience in the building materials industry. Ability to understand CR’s competitors and develop plans to beat them. Detail-oriented, highly organized with a hunter mentality for developing and executing strategic plans. Ability to discover, create, and develop new opportunities. Excellent verbal and writing skills; competitive drive to succeed. Minimum 50% travel on a regional basis to cover territory.
