The role will work with individuals interested in home buying, maintaining their home affordability, foreclosure prevention, or making an exit strategy from home ownership. This role plans, implements, and evaluates current and new workshops as financial environment dictates.
Responsibilities
Analyze financial situations and recommend alternatives.
Teach credit and money management skills.
Work with creditors and refer participants to other community resources.
Engage with individuals interested in home buying, maintaining affordability, foreclosure prevention, or exit strategies from home ownership.
Plan, implement, and evaluate current and new workshops as the financial environment dictates.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Valid driver's license required.
Certified Debt Management Professional (from Partnership for Financial Education) or willingness to earn within 2 months of hire.
HUD Certified Housing Counselor or willingness to earn within 3 months of hire.
MS Office experience.
Familiarity with homebuying, homeownership, and loss mitigation a plus.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and report activities conducted; ability to maintain confidentiality; professional demeanor.
Ability to receive and utilize constructive criticism regarding performance, presentation, and relationships with others; ability to support the mission of Catholic Charities in working with those who are poor and at the margins.
