The Opportunity The Financial Services Program provides centralized budget, accounting, payroll, and benefits support to the agency and program operations. Financial Services ensures budget and accounting operations comply with state and federal guidelines as well as agency policies and procedures.

The Fiscal Technician 2 provides fiscal support within the Financial Services Program. The position is responsible for timely and accurate financial information for internal and external customers. This role assists with and processes vendor payments in accordance with Office of Financial Management and agency policy and procedures. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for Financial Services.

Important Notes

WSDA is recruiting for a full-time permanent Fiscal Technician 2 position within the Directors Office Division. This position is located in Olympia, Washington. This is a non-represented position.

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The typical starting salary for this position is: $41,004 - $53,136 annually.

What to Expect Some of the various responsibilities within this role:

Monitor Accounts Payable shared inbox.

Follow manual and electronic filing systems and database file rules and policies.

Schedule in-person and Teams meetings, trainings, interviews, etc., using an electronic calendar.

Audit electronically saved files.

Convert emails to PDFs, download vendor invoices, and scans hardcopy documents into electronic format.

Request approvals for payment from WSDA admin services and programs while obtaining proper expenditure accounting codes. Conduct follow-ups as needed.

Prepare payables batches.

Key batches or uses financial toolbox.

Reconcile various vendor statements to our payments periodically but especially at year-end.

Receive, sort, open, endorse, date stamp, and deliver mail.

Provide customer service with all delivery services to track mail for staff regarding parcels received in mailroom.

Provide coverage for agency receptionist's breaks and/or in the event that the agency receptionist is out of the office.

Answer the telephone with multiple incoming lines and transfer calls to appropriate agency staff.

Accept deliveries from FedEx, UPS, and other vendors. Notify appropriate staff about parcels received.

Accept cash/checks from vendors for products. Provide receipts, stamps, and list checks received on Reception Manifest for Accounts Receivable.

Who should apply Professionals with:

High School Diploma or GED

One (1) year of general clerical, fiscal or accounting experience

Higher education may substitute for year-to-year experience

Preferred/Desired:

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and other software as installed

Demonstrated experience using Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS)
