Jean-Georges Restaurant is Seeking Experienced Server Assistants!

Base pay range $16.00/hr - $16.00/hr

Position Summary The Server Assistant will assist servers and attend to the guests of the restaurant by upholding the quality of food, beverage, and service. This position will assist with clearing dishware, and setting up tables to ensure service runs smoothly. We are looking for candidates who are committed to learn and grow in their work environments. Requirements include strong organization skills, time management, attention to detail, and a desire to provide unsurpassed hospitality.

Essential Job Responsibilities (not All Inclusive)

Assist servers by clearing tables, setting tables, refilling beverages and dishware, and attending to guest requests

Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their dining experience

Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards

Ensure the area is well stocked, and maintain the cleanliness of the workspace throughout the shift

Participate actively during pre-shift meetings

Participate in restaurant service and team training

Ensure consistent communication with staff members, management, and the kitchen during service

Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities

Provide courteous and efficient service

Respond positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints

Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment

Complete side work according to the schedule

Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service

Reliably complete all assigned side work

Demonstrate knowledge of Department of Health (DOH) standards

Knowledge, Experience And Skills

A minimum of two years’ experience in fine dining

Friendly, outgoing, energetic team player with a positive attitude

Experience working in a fast-paced professional restaurant

Desire and dedication to learn and offer fine dining service

Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to take direction and execute

High standards for cleanliness of workspace and service areas

A desire to advocate on behalf of the guest as well as notice and pursue when a guest is dissatisfied

A willingness to jump in and assist with additional duties when needed (bussing tables, greeting guests, running food) and a great team player

Genuine warmth and hospitality

Full availability which includes daytime hours, evening hours and weekends

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

Climbing steps regularly

Compensation The base pay range for this position is paid a minimum wage and a tip credit is taken when applicable. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
