OneMain Financial The Underwriter is responsible for sourcing product, decisioning loan requests, and negotiating purchase money loans through communicating with Dealerships. The position requires relationship management with dealerships in a defined market and follow-up on approved business to acquire the loan. This role makes prudent credit decisions within established guidelines, in compliance with state and federal laws, as well as OneMain Financial policies and procedures. In the Role
Develop and maintain relationships with Dealers who provide significant benefit to OneMain Consistently review and discuss with dealerships all opportunities and ensure quality service is being provided Actively communicate and conduct outreach calls with existing dealerships to demonstrate the value OneMain delivers to the dealer Utilize key metrics to strategically improve volume results Analyze credit bureau reports; evaluate stability, ability, willingness, and collateral/equity position of customer and make decisions regarding the creditworthiness of customers within approved limits Analyze highly complex financial and credit information according to internal underwriting standards while complying with Fair and Responsible Lending Practices; identify and process potential fraud Provide strong and clear communication to internal and external partners to ensure quick turnaround time Meet production and goals while maintaining underwriting integrity through sound underwriting principles, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure overall profitability of the product line May review more complex loans requiring exceptions Work collaboratively with other team members and mentor less experienced underwriters and support staff Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent Display high level of integrity, independent thinking, dealing with ambiguity, learning agility, detail oriented, inclusive and results oriented Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills Innovative thinker with strong ability to implement actions to achieve strategic vision Ability to source and close dealers into the program Ability to establish and maintain effective vendor relations Location:
Tempe, AZ Department Schedule:
