Position Overview As the
GL Accountant
(located in Austin, TX), you will support the timely and accurate close process, drive continuous timeline and reporting efficiencies, and collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate accounting data. Your role involves month‑end close support, journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and participation in the financial audit process.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the month‑end close process and record financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
Prepare and submit monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and necessary supporting schedules.
Perform account analyses to ensure journal entries and balances are correct.
Assist with the preparation of the internal income statement and balance sheet.
Contribute to the financial audit process by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.
Improve the efficiency of current standard entries and processes.
Collaborate with finance and other accounting team members to ensure ledger data usability.
Support accounting projects and initiatives as needed.
Performance Goals & Key Performance Indicators
Accurate and organized reconciliations.
Timely journal entry submissions.
Completion of audit requests.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA or CPA Candidate preferred (not required).
2+ years general ledger accounting experience.
Strong Excel skills (SUMIF, LOOKUP, MATCH, Pivot tables, data organization, etc.).
Experience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Excellent communicator, intellectually curious, and a quick learner.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
