MI The Savant Group is seeking a skilled Instrument Testing and Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of instruments and equipment to ensure they meet performance and quality standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with a passion for hands-on problem-solving and a commitment to delivering precise, high-quality work. Who is the Savant Group? ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Cleans, calibrates, inspects, disassembles, repairs and performs preventative maintenance of laboratory analytical instrumentation/equipment. Working knowledge and experience with refrigerant systems and being EPA certified, section 608 is a plus. May require direct communication with clients to troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repair of a wide variety of laboratory analytical equipment/instrumentation and accessories. Operates electronic test equipment using multi-meters and leak testers. Inspects, evaluates, and determines necessary modifications and performs complex repairs. Records and reports abnormal function or out of tolerance conditions of equipment. Locates parts sources, estimates costs and submits requests for purchasing parts as required for the repair or maintenance of the equipment. Writes equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures. Performs wiring and computer setup associated with the assembly, calibration, testing, and certification of precision instruments. Performs inspections and evaluation on incoming and outgoing instrument components, parts, and computer automated equipment. Evaluates instrument operations, interprets test results and prepares certification documents. Provides support as needed to team members to ensure timely and accurate results delivery. Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices in the laboratory. Perform basic database management for instrumentation in process. Configures computers for instrumentation software. Interprets test results based on pass/fail criteria and troubleshoots certification concerns. Prepares certification documents for final quality assurance process. Maintain the organization of the testing and certification laboratory. ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES Work across the Savant group business when requested. Direct involvement with industry organizations for committees, papers, abstracts, and interviews to promote the company. Continually strives for effective relationships with other employees and management. Assists with testing of reference oils for certification. Modifies work instructions for updated processes as needed. For assigned test ownership areas, lead efforts to implement quality system procedures. Assist technical services with creating specific task procedures. Manages research projects and maintains associated technical documentation. Provides in-house instrument training for distributors, employees and/or customers as necessary. Other tasks assigned as required. JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics, computer science or related field preferred. EXPERIENCE:

One years’ experience in quality control and/or lab environment required. Experience with electrical, mechanical, or electronic devices preferred. Must be able to move/lift equipment weighing up to 50lbs. SAFETY MEASURES:

Full-time with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. TRAVEL:
