$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing, mid-sized manufacturing company headquartered in the Phoenix, AZ area. This is a hands-on role that combines general accounting with cost and inventory accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in manufacturing or distribution environments where they have progressive experience partnering with manufacturing operations, have a solid grasp of GAAP, and the ability to provide accurate, timely financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
This role is in office 5 days a week and will report to the Controller. This is a growth-oriented opportunity with the potential to be promoted to the next level within 1-2 years for the right candidate! Key Responsibilities
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Perform detailed cost accounting activities including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory reconciliations. Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve reporting on production costs, margins, and inventory management. Support internal controls, audits, and compliance requirements. Participate in system improvements and ERP utilization for accounting and reporting processes. Provide ad hoc analysis and financial insights to leadership as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in manufacturing or cost accounting required. Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting required. Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, Dynamics, etc.); advanced Excel skills. Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally. CPA or CMA preferred but not required. Benefits
