Overview

Financial Clearance Representative I – Serves as a liaison between the organization and the patient's insurance company to facilitate and expedite financial clearance functions required for patient evaluation and treatment; creates and maintains records related to financial clearance. Serves as the liaison between admissions, authorizations, clinic staff, patient accounting and physician billing. Starting hourly rate is $21.81. Financial Clearance Representative II – Administers the clinical authorization process and resolves more complex clinical authorization issues; assists with training Financial Clearance Representatives I on eligibility and benefits; reviews reports to monitor unit efficiency; evaluates problems and appropriately reports or resolves such issues. Starting hourly rate is $24.39. Responsibilities

Support financial clearance activities for patient evaluation and treatment. Maintain records related to financial clearance. Coordinate between admissions, authorizations, clinic staff, patient accounting and physician billing to facilitate processes. Administer the clinical authorization process and resolve more complex authorization issues (Representative II). Qualifications

Financial Clearance Representative I High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park). Financial Clearance Representative II High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in Financial Clearance and/or Patient Access within the Financial Clearance Department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices. Employment details
