$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Controller
Arlington, TX Vaco is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Controller for one of our mid-market, private equity-backed clients. This is a hands-on role that will be instrumental in building a scalable accounting function, driving financial rigor, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. This Controller will supervise a small team and be very hands on with the day-to-day accounting – managing AR/AP, processing payroll, filing sales taxes and dealing with the auditors. They are open to Sr. Managers or Assistant Controllers looking to take that next step to Controller and offer 4 weeks PTO out of the gates as well as solid 401k match and full healthcare benefits. $130-150K + bonus Key Responsibilities
Lead and Manage Accounting Operations: Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets. Monthly Close & Reporting: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Audit & Compliance: Lead annual financial audits and ensure compliance with all financial and tax regulations. Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. PE Reporting: Prepare financial packages, KPIs, and ad hoc reports for private equity sponsors and board-level presentations. Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and scalability. Assist with ERP upgrades or implementations as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role. Experience in a private equity-backed, growth-stage, or mid-market company is required. Hands-on experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar). Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
