Overview
We are looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will manage and oversee all aspects of fixed asset accounting, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and reporting of company assets. You will play a key role in supporting compliance, audits, and process improvements related to fixed assets. Responsibilities
Provide dedicated accounting support for a world-class manufacturing environment. Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments. Thrive in a hybrid work environment and contribute effectively as part of a collaborative team. Manage the complete fixed asset accounting lifecycle, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger with the general ledger to ensure accuracy. Prepare and review journal entries related to fixed assets, ensuring compliance with company policy and accounting standards. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities for fixed assets. Generate fixed asset reports and analyze capital expenditures, providing insights to management on asset utilization and optimization. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and documentation related to fixed assets. Continuously improve fixed asset accounting processes, controls, and documentation. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate asset capitalization. Support the Finance team with other accounting tasks and projects as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, including direct experience with fixed asset accounting. Working knowledge of accounting concepts (GAAP and/or IFRS), with a focus on fixed asset standards. Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset modules; proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written, oral, and listening communication skills. High level of energy, initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Enjoys collaborating with others and working effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Demonstrated curiosity and desire to learn and develop professionally. Desired Qualifications
Experience in fixed asset accounting within a manufacturing environment. Public accounting experience. MBA in accounting or business-related discipline, CPA or CMA certifications.
