Overview
Gifford Health Care is seeking a Finance and Budget Analyst to bridge financial strategy and data analytics to support decision-making within the healthcare organization. This role involves analyzing financial and operational data, building reports and dashboards, and leveraging tools like SQL and BI platforms to uncover insights that drive efficiency, cost savings, and improved patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Analyze financial and operational data and generate actionable insights for finance and operations teams.
Build reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
Translate complex data into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
Support annual budgeting and long-term financial forecasting; perform variance analysis.
Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with operational goals.
Work with IT and finance teams to improve data infrastructure and reporting capabilities; maintain data integrity across financial systems; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA).
Automate recurring reporting tasks and streamline data workflows.
Present findings to executives, clinicians, and administrative staff; serve as a liaison between finance, IT, and clinical departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
3+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, finance, or data reporting.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
Strong skills in Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Familiarity with healthcare financial systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic, Cerner, Oracle).
Experience with Python, R, or other data analysis languages is preferred.
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models and cost accounting.
